Spare a Night for QCH. 2018
Date: Apr 07, 2018
Location: Merivale Bowling Centre
I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made Saturday April 7th’s event such a massive success! I knew the amazing Barrhaven community and the incredible businesses and home builders would be supportive of our efforts to raise funds for the Hopes Rising Campaign for Mental Health at QCH and that was an understatement because you sure did not disappoint. What a great time and I am so humbled by the support, the encouragement and the financial contributions of you all!!
Last year the event raised a net of $10,000 – this year we knocked it out of the park and brought it up to $25,000! A very, very special thanks goes out to all our sponsors, participants and of course in kind donors, with a special thank you to Andre Foustanellas from Merivale Bowling Centre who donated the entire facility, lanes, wine, meal and service! A huge thank you to all of the home builders that didn’t hesitate to support this event and our amazing returning sponsors!! A final thank you to Hopes Rising Ambassador, our own Councillor Jan Harder, who first had the idea to create a fun event that could help others in our community.
This event sold out in less than two weeks this year – a testament to the great time everyone has at the event and the commitment to the QCH. We the MacDonald Moussa team sure are proud and committed to the QCH and its renewed mental health initiative and we can’t wait to see you all back next year.

After bowling participants will retire to the lounge to enjoy a home style Italian dinner with complimentary wine. This will be followed by dancing the night away to One Night Stand a high-energy 7-piece band delivering all the classic rock tunes plus a unique mix of pop, blues, country and soul.
Ambassadors Raising Hope: Ten Ottawa City Councillors announced on September 27, 2017 that they have set a goal to raise $500,000 in support of the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation’s Hopes Rising Campaign for mental health services for adults of all ages in west Ottawa.
Queensway Carleton Hospital’s Mental Health Program is facing challenges and barriers to optimizing care for patients and families facing mental health issues and crises. HOPES RISING is a $5 million campaign to enhance and improve mental healthcare for a rapidly growing number of adults and families. It is a campaign inspired by the hopes of families throughout our community to enhance acute mental health services for adults of all ages.
All funds raised at Spare A Night for QCH will be to support the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation’s Hopes Rising Campaign.
